Your unwanted videotapes can be put to good use by helping to recover other people's priceless footage- in order to repair customers' tapes and salvage their footage very often the magnetic material on the reels must be transferred to an undamaged cassette.
Inevitably technology marches forward and new Video8, 8mm, Hi8, Digital8 and miniDV videotapes are no longer being produced, making it a challenge to find the parts we need to continue working with those formats as we have in the past.
If you have some videotapes that you’ve already transferred to a different format and are contemplating throwing them away or if you are looking for a way to recycle them (unfortunately we are not aware of any recycling programs that work with videotapes since they are a combination of plastics and metals), we hope you’ll consider selling them to us instead.
